How My Life Was Saved part 2
The calls started coming in from my church about a church members parents being trapped in their home and how it was destroyed, so sad. But that is all I thought, nothing like that will ever happen to us. Before I went to bed I saw a picture on Facebook of some of the damage and then a different call came in, a call to join the team going down to Joplin to help, I talked to Ernie about it, I wanted to help. I felt a strong desire to go, but went to bed with out responding to the call. I woke up the next day still wanting to go, it was like a quite nag and eventually I called to join the team. We were on the road to Joplin by 1:30pm and this is were my life lessons began. I had never driven more than an hour or two by my self and here I am driving 4 hours all by my self, sure I was in a caravan of trucks and trailers but that was not to reassuring. I did learn that I can drive 4 hours and to keep the tunes going and snacks nearby. On the way down I kept seeing different crews driving down as well, already my heart is warming. I prayed a lot on the way down, I didn't know where I'd be used or what I would do but I knew I need God's gift of endurance for sure.
